Satellite™ let's you establish internal checkpoints
Many of our customers use Satellite™ to increase the
level of security at sensitive areas within a facility.
This software is used
to control and monitor the entry and exit of visitors at one or more internal locations
or "check points". It is used with visitors who have already been badged at an
SVM™ workstation at the main lobby, visitor center or guard gate.
A clearance level is assigned to each visitor by SVM when
they are badged at the main entry point. Upon arrival at a Satellite™ station,
the barcode on the visitor's badge is scanned. The Satellite™ station will
display the visitor's photo, name and clearance level and immediately inform
the operator whether to allow the visitor entry into that area or whether to
deny entry.
Satellite™ time stamps the visitor's entry and exit at that
station so that an administrator can monitor visitor entry at that station.
Satellite™ does not have the ability to create new visitor records, modify
existing records, or print badges; it is a supplement to SVM™, not a substitute
for SVM™.
Another method of scanning visitors at internal check points
is the use of Satellite™ Mobile™. This wireless (802.11b) handheld computer
with EasyLobby Satellite™ software pre-installed can be used for wireless check
in and check out at an internal station. It eliminates the need for a full
workstation with power and network connectivity.
Satellite™ Mobile™ is very easy to learn and use. It has a
alpha-numeric keypad and is rugged for industrial use. Satellite™ Mobile™ can
also be used for wireless check out at or near any exit point in your facility.

EasyLobby Installation Highlighted in Security Magazine
Security Magazine highlights the EasyLobby visitor
management installation at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in their June
issue.
"Visitor management needs to consist of more than just colored badges and paper
sign-in sheets. The Connecticut Children's Medical Center understood that when
it began the search to improve upon that type of visitor management system." Read more.

Access Control Integration
EasyLobby's integration with your access control system
helps ensure that your organization is controlling its security infrastructure
rather than being controlled by it. Although most access systems do a great job of tracking
employees, they are traditionally not designed to account for visitors or
temporary guests. Because EasyLobby Secure Visitor Management provides enterprise-class
visitor registration, tracking, reporting and badge printing, as well as
web-based pre-registration by employees, package and asset management, and
employee time and attendance capabilities, it is a good fit to augment the
capabilities of access control. EasyLobby SVM is tightly integrated with over 30 of the most
popular access control systems. For the complete list of access control companies
integrated with EasyLobby, click here. The integration with access control allows organizations to
grant temporary card or barcode access to certain visitors or contractors
directly from the EasyLobby SVM visitor form at the time of check in. The
information entered into EasyLobby is seamlessly passed to the access control
system. A proximity card for the visitor is created from the access control
system using the information entered into EasyLobby. By gaining control of your environment through highly
integrated access control and visitor management solutions, you can strengthen
your overall security, improve user productivity, reduce administration costs,
enable regulatory compliance, and improve the image of the organization as
security-conscious.

Tech Note: "Registry Options" provide more configuration choices for EasyLobby SVM™
EasyLobby SVM™ provides a number of Registry Options - essentially software setting variables - that influence the behavior of the
program, yet are not settable in the options screens of the program. Here are
just a few examples of the more than 30 Registry Options that are offered:
JPEGCompression - Set this variable to control the JPEG
compression amount for photos and images imported into SVM™. Set this variable
to a value between 10 and 100. A value of 10 is the most compression, which
results in the smallest picture size stored in the database, but has the most
image loss. Highly compressed pictures can appear blocky or jagged. A value of
100 would be the least amount of compression, with the largest image size but
the least image loss. In the absence of setting a value, the default value is
25.
ScanShellRegion - If your visitors are primarily from a
particular region, you have the option of instructing the ScanShell scanner to prioritize
the auto-detection to that region when a driver's license is scanned, which
allows for more effective detection of licenses. Using this variable, the
various regions are arranged in the order of detection preference. The regions
that support auto-detection are: U.S., Canada, South and Central Americas,
Europe, Australia, Asia, South Africa. By default, EasyLobby will use the U.S.
region for auto-detect. In the absence of setting this variable, the scanner
will only detect a U.S. license. If users regularly have visitors from multiple
countries, they should set this variable for scanning licenses by prioritizing
the order of regions.
VisitorFormView - You may want your operator to always view
the visitor log in one particular view - sign-in view, business card view, or
the full view. This variable is used to force the visitor log form view to one
of the three options, so that no other view is selectable by the user.
About 50% of registry options pertain to self registration
mode - allowing security personnel to set a range of settings for unattended or
kiosk mode operation of SVM™.
You can view a list of the Registry Options in the CD that
comes with your EasyLobby SVM™ software. They are located in the file
RegistryOptions.doc in the Documentation Folder. This document also provides
directions on creating and setting Registry Options for your system. Also be
aware that setting one of the Registry Options only affects the SVM program on
the workstation where the option is set.
