EasyLobby Best Practices
What is Secure Visitor Management?
In many organizations today, visitors entering a secure building, facility or campus are able to gain access by simply scribbling their name in a visitor log book. With the lacking of lobby security and a visitor manager, confidentiality of recent visitors is out in the open. Thus, the lack of a security management system to read, and analyze is a concern.
EasyLobby, the Global Leader in Secure Visitor Management Systems, believes that by enforcing lobby security, thus implementing visitor managers, and security management systems, todays organizations can become more credible in terms of operations and image.
With a Secure Visitor Management (or SVM) system, visitors electronically scan their ID (business card, driver's license, passport or other form of ID). Acting as a visitor manager, all relevant information about them is captured in a secure database file. This information is fully-customizable and can include a variety of information including their photo, signature, the name of the person being visited, the reason for the visit, and their entry and exit times. In twenty seconds or less, the security management system professionally checks in the visitor and a high quality visitor pass is automatically printed.
What are the benefits of SVM?
Over the last several years, thousands of organizations, both large and small, public and private, have discovered the many benefits of replacing the outdated paper log with a Security Management System.
These benefits include:
- Lobby Security enforced more robustly
- Streamlining the visitor check-in process, capturing detailed visitor information more accurately and automatically for visitor log book
- Being able to easily perform analysis and reporting on visitor I.D data across multiple locations
- Visitor I.D and company information kept confidential by visitor manager
- Providing high quality, professional looking visitor passes as well as badges for employees
- Enhancing the organization's image and overall feel including internal lobby security making visitors and employees feel safer
- Networking multiple locations together to show a single visitor log database
- Being able to tightly integrate the visitor log system with your access control system
How does SVM work?
While SVM is a powerful method for enhancing lobby security, at the same time it needs to be simple and user-friendly for both visitors as well as your lobby security personnel, such as a visitor manager. EasyLobby breaks SVM down to a multi-step process:
